Laughing in knowing
the truth in what he was saying
the words through the radio
speaking of having pot lucks,
our community meals,
engrained in our DNA
Part of our faith,
our loving traditions
being one body,
perhaps through the stomach,
one community sharing
all carrying
the pot luck gene
