Not the kings, not the rulers
not the leaders in the temple
the common folk, laborers
the shepherds alone heard the good news
Christ, the Messiah, the one foretold in scripture
humbly born, in a manger bed
go to Bethlehem and see
the gift of God, revealing
kneel at his bed;
the king of kings has come!
