Mindful of that Sliver

Needing to be mindful
as we go about our days
that a sliver of Jesus
lives inside of us
in our neighbors
as much as in our hearts
going with us
as we live our lives

Like John stirring
in Elizabeth’s womb
do we feel Jesus
crying out to us
from within the strangers
those we pass on by
do we hear him crying
when they need out assistance
when we turn away?
