the struggle in Cairo
factions lining up
in Tahrir Square
Like the stones from the wadi
gathered by David
thrown against the giant
to save the whole nation
Will history see
the same struggle
the small shepherd boy
against the amassed armies
the fear of repression
the subjugation of a people
in the tumult of today
will we hear the same echoes
What will the lessons be
of the stones being hurled
will the same be said
will we have heard
what will become
of the cries of the peoples
who will they sing of
in the retelling someday
of what happened on the plain of battle
when the small protestors
stood against the giant
