Newly Honest

The epiphany of grace
newly comfortable in truth
speaking words of life
yet not fully in rebirth

Caught in between
the wages of sin
heavy on our hearts
wanting to truly live

"There is a season between repentance and rebirth, between the old life and the new. There is a kind of mud season in which we have become newly honest about our faults, wounds and struggles. We are exposed and vulnerable, and not yet comfortable with a new way of living. We are unrecognizable as our old selves, but not yet fully formed as new ones."
