Unrecognizable as our old selves
like Christ for Mary
in the garden
after his resurrection
when we confess our sin
turning from the world
We are exposed, vulnerable
new creations awakening
unwrapping the bandages
yet not fully formed
still needing to heal

"There is a season between repentance and rebirth, between the old life and the new. There is a kind of mud season in which we have become newly honest about our faults, wounds and struggles. We are exposed and vulnerable, and not yet comfortable with a new way of living. We are unrecognizable as our old selves, but not yet fully formed as new ones."
