what he said in life
only in his actions
do we see his righteousness
Defined by mercy
not wanting to see her hurt
planning to leave her
in the stillness of night
Yet the angels called him
in a dream in that night
telling him to take her
as her bride, in this life
She was to bear Christ
the Messiah long foretold
he could bring her to him
to raise the Son of Man
He was called to be there
as the father of the Son
the simple carpenter
to raise up the Holy One
