Our word not worth a thin dime
we fail to be true, far too often
we lie and cheat, we are selfish
against our God, our neighbors
turning our backs on them
God’s word, by contrast,
as sure now as in ages past
to the end of time, eternal
we can have faith in him
we will stand beside us
His promise eternal
our hope only in God
He will not forsake us
even when we turn from Him
our sin is forgiven in Him
