The Master bowing before them
taking off his outer robe
offering his back to them
as he would in Caesar’s palace
when the guards would scourge him
offering himself to them
a servant to his disciples
humbly serving
Christ was the one
who washed their feet
before the Seder before them
a meal like no other
by the words he would speak.
