Death needed to be swallowed up forever

We were unable to follow the law
the chasm between the creator
our desire to be with him
to walk in the garden
The law a stumbling block
we could never hurdle
a shroud of death remaining
ever remaining present
Death needed to be swallowed up forever
once for all time, eternal
to bridge the gap between us
to create a way to heaven, to walk in paradise
