Looking down at Jesus
at the Master at his feet
astonishing to Peter
jarring to his conscience
his sense of right and wrong
that his Teacher would wash his feet
being a servant to him
the one he had named as the Christ
the living Son of God
how can it be right for him to serve him
to bow at this feet before him
even before the cross
