Fragrance Rising
Crisp apples ripe
up in the trees, above us
yet more the impression
of those on the ground
The apples fallen
in the uncut grass
under the fragrant canopy
heavy laden branches
bowed, calling,
in the fall sun
The apples fallen
warm in the sun
fragrant buzzing
bees carrying the scent
swirling around me
no rest, no relent
Fragrance rising
hidden in the grass
sweet nectar calling
for it will not last
