In listening to his final
words
words of awareness
The very words of Moses
knowing his fate before him
that he would not cross
that he would die where he
was
not in the promised land
Remembering Moses
echoing today, present
within us, in Washington
across this nation
as we honor one
and applaud another
a Joshua before us
Standing resolute
ready for battle
to continue the dream
for much is left undone
the goals still the same
one nation, undivided
still far from our reach
