In the Wet Wood – v4

Evergreen forest, wet fragrance
after the cooling shower
sweet scent of pine, of balsam
caught in wisps of air

Mixing with other
more earth tones
of peat, of decay, cool
wafting on the breeze

Damp night falling
around me as I walk
he wet dirt road
in the northern wood
