How to
describe
an image
before me
in language of
texture
of Georgia O’Keeffe
of flesh and
blood
Dying crocuses,
alive
bright, swaying,
bright, swaying,
glorious in
their fading
becoming transparent
in the mid-day sun
Like rice paper blossoms
or blooms of thin phyllo dough,
becoming transparent
in the mid-day sun
Like rice paper blossoms
or blooms of thin phyllo dough,
see-through
spring rolls;
dying ever so gracefully
at the foot of the cross
dying ever so gracefully
at the foot of the cross
