How to express,
to conjure
an image
before me
in language of
texture
of Georgia O’Keeffe
a vision of
flesh and blood
Dying crocuses,
alive
bright, swaying, calling
bright, swaying, calling
glorious in
their fading
becoming transparent
in the mid-day sun
Rice paper blossoms
or blooms of thin phyllo dough,
becoming transparent
in the mid-day sun
Rice paper blossoms
or blooms of thin phyllo dough,
see-through
spring rolls;
dying ever so gracefully
at the foot of the cross
dying ever so gracefully
at the foot of the cross
