Crying out, in our depths
about injustice, pain
evil stalking the earth,
the scales unbalanced
unable to change
False measures
unfair to the people
cutting us apart
the weak oppressed
crying out to God
But the song deeper
the words they sang
coming together, healed
the congregation in the
temple
the chosen people of God
God calling to us
to every single one
to you and to me
“we gods” He created
given dominion over the
earth
A lament ringing
a call to action it should
be
to change the whole world
resetting the balances
that we would be conformed
to Thee
