to love our enemies
to offer them grace
to turn the other cheek
when the law said
an eye for an eye,
judgment
all of the scripture come
to life
when we spit on Jesus
when we whipped Christ
he did not fight back
he chose the cross
instead
Love, God, Immanuel
God Here With Us
suffering, dying,
choosing the cross
the words of scripture
lived out fully, truly
an example for us
to walk more gently
humbly in this walk
