from broken cisterns – v2

how can we offer another a drink
how can we share the Good News
believing the lie of self-confidence
sure our way alone

our thirst not quenched
no living water
drinking from broken cisterns
the work of our hands

how can we offer another a drink
how can we be light to the world
believing the lie of divine guidance
sure of our way alone

turning away
from the plans of the Father
wandering, lost children
out in the world

how can we offer another a drink
how can we be salt, a balm
a light to this darkness, the world
sure of our way alone
