If you used
to come
to this
church, this sanctuary
if you once
felt belonging,
part of
this family;
but you left
because
of something
someone said
or didn’t
say or
something someone
did
or didn’t
do,
we
apologize and
we ask you
for forgiveness.
Please come
back;
we need you,
we
didn’t mean
to hurt you.
Our life
together will be
richer with
you here with us,
healed of
our brokenness, schism.
We love you
and we are sorry
if we hurt
you in any way
with our
words or our actions
or when we
failed to act or speak.
We too are
human; we made mistakes.
