not here by chance
in the upper room
with the disciples
each step had been for a purpose
to tell the ancient story
to fulfill his destiny
turning his face to Jerusalem
now in David’s city
he had come to die
to fulfill ancient scripture
to atone for our sins
since the beginning of time
his life having meaning
in sharing the Gospel
coming to Jerusalem
to celebrate the Passover
to become the Paschal Lamb
not here by chance
