slaughtered for the cross

the sacrificial lamb

speaking the words of sacrifice

taking on the mantle

the cloak of our sin

His body would be broken

His blood poured out

a new covenant with God

to redeem our very lives

slaughtered for the cross

prepared for the sacrifice

the blood on the lintels

the doorposts of our hearts.
