Through my tears, my
anguish,
my sense of being broken,
empty,
God heard me and lifted me
from the pit
though I deserved damnation
God gave me relationship
instead
walking close beside me
raising my troubled head
God gave me new life
a calling, a purpose,
God heard me and raised me
out of my suffering,
my own rebellion, my sin.
God heard me, my sorrow,
for the mess I was in.
