these words of Jesus
to God above,
“Father, forgive them,
for they know not
what they do.”
a prayer for us
not just the soldiers
those standing
at the foot of the cross
a prayer for us
all of humanity
all who were born
since the beginning of time
a prayer for us
all who came after
all who will be born
to the end of time
these words of Jesus
to God above,
