the promised Messiah

what we had believed all along

or what we had prayed for

confirmed on Sunday

when they all sang, “Hosanna”.

the promised Messiah

in our Lord, our Master;

but what were they strange words

of pain, of suffering

how could these words go together

salvation and misery?
