The disciples angry
at the lack of welcome;
The Samaritan’s response
to their request for a place
of rest.
And yet their anger
at such a small thing,
at the very moment
Christ turned to Jerusalem.
His sacrifice, His
submission,
compared with their anger;
How stark the contrast
what they felt that day.
Petty problems
growing too large;
When our focus, our goal,
is turned away from Christ.
