A cry caught in my throat

I became numbed as I watched
the horror, the terror, flickering on the screen
repeating, building, throughout the day
evil, chaos was loosed into our world
our nation was being attacked;
A gasp, a cry was caught in my throat
as the repeating images numbed my pain
