Here you go, Dad

In the church entry way

looking across the street

a father and son getting

ready for the hunt

A father with a hat of blaze orange

denims and plaid shirt

standing on the bumper

loading the Chevy truck

I wish I had a camera

to capture that moment

little hand raising

the drink for him

“Here you go, Dad”,

offering him morning

love poured out

in the little hand raised

offering him morning

before the deer hunt
