If Jesus was only a man

If Jesus was only a man,
if He was not the Messiah,
He was guilty of the crimes
that lead Him to the cross…
 
If Christ was only a man
His words would convict Him,
claiming communion with God,
that they were one person…
 
If Jesus was only a man,
He did not save us
His sacrifice a lie
meant to deceive us…
 
But the cross is the proof
that Christ is the Messiah,
the symbol of Roman power
us our proof of salvation…
