You may not know that shame is beside you,
that someone you love was abused, is in pain,
that their heart has kept them silent, in secret -
They have felt shame for sins others committed…
when you see these survivors standing, in courage,
standing at our nation’s Capitol, pleading with you
for justice, for courage, to stand with the victims…
even if they are silent, in pain, crying,
in shame for sins others committed,
taking away their innocence…
