I am not ready – v3

I remember so clearly his sharing these words,
in memory, in prayer, welling up within him,
a word of caution for all of us gathered,
hearing these words of challenge,
of preparation, for what will be...

“Here it comes and I’m not ready”,
not ready to meet my Maker,
a balancing of the scales,
to have an accounting,
measuring my life…

Wishing there had been that there was more time,
All that I have done, my history, failings,
time for me to change, to turn,
to walk more closely to You,
the rest of my days, oh God…

These words that he shared, with us,
a measure of his witness, his truth,
of his daily walk, his struggles,
walking more humbly
each day of his life…

one taken, one added – v2

A bit of hope for each of us

if we can see this

God’s plan being worked out

in perfect balance

God’s way beyond reason

as one was taken from us

the circle of life, turning

new life came to us

In God’s perfect timing

one was added to us

as one left this earth

as one was gathered home

please be ready – v2

Please be ready for Christ’s coming

for we don’t know the hour;

Please be ready, today,

when God calls you home.

Claim Jesus, the Christ,

as your Lord and Savior;

Christ is the Way, the Path,

to eternal life, only.

Please be ready, certain,

for we don’t know the hour;

Please be ready, children,

when God calls you home.

I pray I am ready

I know my days are numbers

I am only given so many;

I pray I am ready

when my time here is up.

I pray my lamp is lit

that I have enough oil;

I pray I am ready

when my time here is done.
