I remember him sharing these
words
in memory, in prayer,
a word of caution for all of
us gathered,
hearing these words of
challenge
of preparation.
“Here it comes and I’m not
ready”,
not ready to meet my Maker
to have an accounting
a balancing of the scales
measuring my life.
All that I have done,
Wishing there was more time,
time for me to change
to walk more closely to You
the rest of my days.
These words that he shared
a measure of his witness
of his daily walk
walking more humbly
each day of his life.
