not a priest but a carpenter

not a priest like Zechariah

the father of John

a simple carpenter

to be Jesus’ father

I am unworthy

for such responsibility

but the shepherds

not the Wise Men

the first to see Jesus

all of this part

of God’s holy plan

who am I to change the path

of the great I Am.

we thank You Lord

for this day of worship in Advent

for the three candles in the circle

for the light burning brighter,

a reminder of our hope, your peace,

Your call to be faithful

in our walk in life.

we thank You Lord

for the faithfulness of Mary

for the trust of Joseph

becoming the parents

of our Lord and Savior

journeying to Bethlehem

for His humble birth.

we thank You Lord

for what You have given;

we give You just a portion of

what You have given;

and we pray your will be done

with these gifts we offer;

use them for Your glory, alone.
