mystery box:
-
a spool of thread and needle
-
and patch of cloth and
needle
-
Back in the Garden of Eden
-
Adam and Eve were tricked
into eating
-
they ate and gained
knowledge
-
they sinned
-
why was it sin?
o
they wanted to be like God
o
disobedience
-
their eyes were open
o
they knew they were naked
o
hid from God
o
made clothes of leaves
-
God sent them out of the Garden
-
but God made clothes out of
skins of animals
o
God sewed them clothes
o
they were the first
sacrifice
o
these skins covered their
sins
-
God sent Jesus, that is why
we celebrate in Advent
o
to cover our sinfulness
o
with his blood on the cross
o
we must remember
o
and we must prepare for his
second coming
-
Only Jesus can cover our
sin, our nakedness
-
He is the Way, the Truth,
and the Life
-
Jesus is our new skin, the
clothing to cover us
-
only Jesus.
