the tale of Mary
being visited by Gabriel
that she was yet a virgin
that the baby within her
was the seed of God
the subject of gossip
the small town abuzz
everyone with an opinion
all quick to judge
Joseph alone, her betrothed,
standing beside her
a wild story of an angel
