the gifts of the Magi
how strange for a baby;
His ministry, His calling
the prophecy, a curse
watching him grow
His ministry beginning
rising from the Jordan
driven out of Nazareth
joy on Palm Sunday
despair in Jerusalem
as the crowd cried, “Crucify”
her son, their King
standing at the cross of Jesus
her son, God’s Son;
thinking of the words
spoken at His birth
did she ponder his name
did these all make more sense;
the Epiphany for Mary
at the foot of the cross
