My hope for the world, for our nation,
in Advent, in the Christmas season
is that we would return to the meaning
to the reason we celebrate
the birth of our Savior
the promise of His Second Coming
the life which He gave us
when He descended from heaven
when He became the sacrifice;
not the glitz, the bright lights
the shopping, the stuff
nothing of Christmas in those things;
the Babe in the manger
the Man on the cross.
