“Ladder, Ladder!”
a phrase to which
I became accustomed
Being beseeched in Spanish
The Pastor and the Pilgrim
in service to God
scraping and painting
in the language of service
“Mi nombre es Ray”
“Escalera?”
Title 8/8/07, poem August 12, 2007 20:15
On the difficulty in creating roofing staging,
when the requester speaks Spanish and the listener,
speaks English. Our mission trip,
from Wesley United Methodist Church,
Concord, NH and from First United Methodist Church,
Hudson, MA to Jacksonville and Machias, ME
to the Down East Maine Mission,
Jacksonville United Methodist Campground,
East Machias, ME
