A little rain wasn’t going to stop us
we were there to scrape, to prime the house
to help out, make progress.
Laughing as the rain ran off the roof
and down my back,
holding the ladder
for the scraping above me
Noticing that even the spiders
had found places out of the storm
But we were undaunted, for a time,
and kept painting in the rain
until the showers became
more serious
