God so loved the world,
so the scripture begins,
of the father’s love, the creator’s wish
to bring us back to him
His son, Christ, the Messiah
came to earth in the likeness of man
to set us free from our sin
He loves us, still loves us
as we live out our lives,
imperfect, sinful servants
unworthy but blessed
saved by God’s grace
Christ’s love, every day
