We are born, created, made
in the image of God
He was born, came into the world
in the likeness of sinful man
The divine born into the world
coming down from heaven, his royal throne
to live as a servant, a teacher
bringing God forgiveness
in the sacrifice of his body
pure, radiant, transfigured;
but in our likeness
taking on our sin
Redeeming us
with his blood, his body
