Coins for the betrayer

Mere coins for the betrayer
what a terrible cost
the price of his blood
resting on his head

Money for the zealot
for the price of our savior
the bounty that they sought
to keep hold of their power

Taken in secret
in the garden that night
betrayed by a kiss of a brother
handed over to the authorities

not the spirit,
