Our law, our beliefs diminished
nothing further, nothing more
if the ink on the page
is the sum of our faith
Such was his lesson
there in their presence
while dining in the open
where strangers may enter in
Needing to see through eyes
guided, informed by God’s love
seeing the world truly
offering hope to those in need
Going beyond our comfort
our tradition and our history
giving generously, without reservation
meeting their urgent needs
Not constructed, trapped
by hidebound rules
seeing with the eyes of Jesus
offering all we can
