as with wax

The living water
poured upon us
a letter sealed, as with wax
the mark of the cross
baptism, water, Spirit,
claiming us
as a letter of God,
sealed by the King
belonging to him
for his holy purpose
each of us claimed
within the community of believers
as a word of love
a child of God
sent as a message
to Your hurting world.
