Words awakening
bringing us Jesus
the retelling, our story
remembering the Christ-child
so rich with love, abiding
God coming to us
sent from above
The familiar story
Mary’s humble child
born in the stable
placed in the manger
to be watched by the animals
come to save us all
God, Emmanuel
Drawing to him
reading the story
letting the journey
renew our Spirit,
our very lives
turning toward him
coming to his throne of Grace
