like a ripe melon
giving flesh
God rent heaven
as a piece of fruit
pulling back the sky
the Spirit falling
meeting Christ coming
up from the waters

a sound like thunder
filling the air
God’s voice calling
to the Christ
the voice of heaven
over the waters
God’s Spirit falling
to Christ in the Jordan
