The world in darkness
your Spirit over the waters
the maelstrom, chaos
swirling round, about us
I know the chaos
how many of us can say this
not yet in your arms
before we saw your light
Unchanged from the world
pulled by false pleasures
not in your arms, together
seeking false treasure
Wanting your guidance
the strength of your purpose
wanting to be servants
resplendent in your glory
Serving you ever
worthy of praise
wanting to atone, ourselves
for all our transgressions
Yet Christ already paid
your hand on the waters
healing us from darkness
light by your word
