Into Nothingness, Light

The Word, light
creation beginning
into nothingness, light
to pierce the darkness
God’s Spirit moving
over the waters
the maelstrom, the chaos
the swirling darkness
God’s word, alive
let there be light
from nothing, something
separating day from night
the balance,
the rhythm, good
in God’s holy sight
