Their Hope into Darkness

Light into suffering
hope into darkness
freedom for chains
not seeing the light of day
Repression for sadness
despairing in their hearts
great nations standing silent
as he crushes their spirits
cast from the streets
into silence, hidden
Spring become Winter
Their freedom denied
our beliefs abandoned
bases, security
in our self-interest
their freedom denied
because we want the oil
