with Mary, with John
at the foot of the cross
weeping, crying
mourning with them
Crying for his dying
scourged, crucified
dying in our stead
holy is his name
we too have lost Christ
the living Son of God
crying like Mary
at the foot of the cross
Yet joyful in his rising
redeeming us from the lost
still weeping for his dying
because he paid our awful cost
